CHINA 2000

We went by bus and train through southern China at night. At 5 o'clock in the morning the station was swarming with people. We drove past a market at 3 in the morning and it was full of people who had made their purchases.... seems they never sleep in China. There was a lady with a live hen on the bus and a man who put a sack containing a live duck next to the driver.
During the day, which was incredibly hot, we took part in Chinese daily life. We also stayed with a Chinese family in the mountains, after walking for several hours. When we came to the luxury hotel in Hong Kong, after some weeks in China, it was with a sense of gratitude. We were able to get a nice bubble bath or a dip in the pool, not all have that privilege....
But it was an interesting and very enjoyable trip.
