winter-I forgive you

Such a wonderful day!
Cold! But fantastic. Did however notice that the ducks and swans appeared to suffer a bit .... the sound they gave away was most of a complaint .... help, we need food! It is not easy for the wild animals, a winter like this.
This beautiful nature, just outside where I live!

Aurora

Went through old photo's today, and found this one. I was 21. It would be used on our business cards, Bar Aurora, in Marbella, Spain. A small bar with good food and drink. Those where the days ......

pedometer

I bought a pedometer. Digital Pedometer de Luxe! 10,000 steps a day minimum is recomended to walk. Will be interesting to see if I can do it. The instructions are so small that it need double glasses to read it .... : /
Step counter measures the step, distance and calorie expenditure.
See if it helps me to lose 4 kg .... It's harder when you're really not overweight.

the contrast is huge ... and I am ashamed.

Have a mother who loves the Christmas decorations, and she has left everything to the last minute. So when I had taken the ''spring'' into my home, she still had Christmas in hers. The reason was certainly that I had not been there at Christmas, and since I would be there at dinner yesterday, she thought it could be maintained. And of course it is cozy, but in my home Christmas goes out a week after New Year, latest.
Good meal, but ate too much .....

Sierra Leone

''My'' little girl from Sierra Leone, which I hope will get a better life in this poor country, with some help from me.
One of the world's poorest countries, with a decade-long civil war.
The conflict was officially declared over in January 2002. An estimated 50.000 people were killed.
During the war in Sierra Leone (1991-2002) thousands of girls and women were abducted by the various rebel movements. For most was rape, kidnapping, forced labor and forced marriages a part of the war experience.
For the women of Sierra Leone it's not a closed chapter. They need care and access to legal aid, employment, education and economic opportunities to help them rebuild their lives again.

become a sponsor

A poor girl will be lucky if she can attend school instead of fetching water and take care of younger siblings. A poor girl will be lucky if she gets as much food as her brothers. Do as me.... become a sponsor for a girl!

En fattig flicka ska ha tur om hon får gå i skolan i stället för att hämta vatten och passa små syskon. En fattig flicka ska ha tur om hon får lika mycket mat som sina bröder. Gör som jag, bli fadder till en flicka!

in my dreams

To complain about the weather does not feel good when you heard and seen what it looks like in Haiti after the earthquake .. However, I long for the warm sun and the ocean. This cold, gray ..... should be prohibited.

over Malmoe City

A 40-meter-high wheel at the town square. Nice view .... a bit scary at the top, for me that is afraid of heights. But you're sitting in a cabin, so the icy howling winds felt only when it swayed a little. Nice with a little sight seeing in my own hometown.

-44C

On Wednesday evening promised temperatures down to minus 44 degrees.
Icy chill is expected to be maintained in a few days before the temperature rises again.

The lowest temperature recorded in Sweden during the month of January is minus 49 in Karesuando 1999.

It's really cold.... even in southern Sweden.
Global warming....?

it's over

Time to remove all Christmas decorations, because it is spring in the air ..... no, it was a joke, it is unfortunately not true. I will miss candlesticks that we have in Sweden for Christmas. They has a cozy glow in the dark days and evenings. But it's just to see the truth, it is time to remove them. Looking forward to longer days now.

too much snow

Cold air from the north, and warnings of snow chaos in southern Sweden.
In Dalarna promised temperatures down to minus 40 degrees Celcius.
I defy the cold and snow, to take a walk to the store, for some good food that I need when I can't go to the dinner parties as was planned.

baby love

A hand in my hand ... my first grandchild, keeps a firm grip on my finger. It's over 2 years ago, and she has become a wonderful little girl, my princess.

blue eye

In Turkey, wherever you look, you'll meet plenty of eyes looking at you. This time I bought myself a ''blue eye'' in Istanbul. It is common in the Turkish culture to give a gift of a ''Blue Glass Nazar Boncugu'' (Nazar boncuk) or ''The Evil Eye Bead'' as it is more widely known. So this year I want to keep the evil eye away .....
.....with my ''blue eye''  ;D

...more chocolate....

As I wrote earlier ..... I love chocolate. And what did I get from my son for Christmas... ...... yes, a chocolate fountain! Have not tried it yet, but it looks very tempting. May invite some friends home for a proper evening revel ...
But, unfortunately, have to think about colesterol value too...... :/
